Ely Cathedral Girls Choir
Our girls sang for the first time in September 2006. Since 2010 the choir has been under the direction of Sarah MacDonald who is also Director of Music at Selwyn College, Cambridge.
The 18 women tend to be pupils at King's Ely, in years 9 to 13. They all are boarders and rehearse four mornings a week before school. Girls sing Evensong two times a week in Cathedral in addition to performing complete week-end responsibilities about once per month. Also, they participate in many Cathedral concerts and unique services. They will have additionally sung in Westminster Abbey, Notre Dame de Paris, The Guards Chapel, London, and real time broadcasts on BBC broadcast 3.
